The position of Operations Support Manager (OSM) is a key, cross-cutting function in the ISS Payload Operation and Integration community. It is a senior systems engineering position providing key support to the Payload Operation Directors as leaders of the POIC cadre in the planning, training and execution of Utilization for the ISS Program. Tasks and assignments tend to be complex, non-routine and/or require a greater level of expertise. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlined. Duties are performed under limited supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Performs extensive operations integration management across the POI disciplines to bring a recommended solution to the Operations Directors Office for final approval.
- Develops, evaluates, and integrates operational procedures/constraints, reviews of flight products, ISS Program CRs, and ECRs.
- OSMs are expected to be self-starting, accountable and work with a high level of autonomy, developing and presenting products and decision packages for POD approval.
- Technical integration of plan, train, and fly for ISS Increment Payload Operations
- Development and documentation of processes, procedures, flight operations constraints in support of Increment operations
- Development and maintenance of POIF Increment Statuses for HP20 Management, Center Director, pre-SORR, FOD FRR, Increment JOP, ISS Program (Ops Tag/IMMT, SORR)
- Identification and representation of issues during Increment Preparation integration to the Lead POD
- Provide and maintain inputs to POIF Level II/III schedule to support Increment product development and integration
- Real time support to the Lead POD and PREP POD in the POM
- Support various program level meetings and communicate results and upcoming impacts to POI e.g. VCB, ASCB, VIP, RICB, SSPCB
- Act as integrators for all POI disciplines for subset of complex payloads
- Integration expert for complex Payloads including meeting coordination, internal POI coordination and development of ops products, minutes/actions
- Recommend final decisions/agreements to the Lead POD for decisions.
- Facilitate Flight Rule development, coordination, and integration and support POD in FRCB
- Facilitate Ops TIM, 1st Contact, and etc. – meetings and presentations

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting ISS Payload Operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
