THE ROLE
This is a unique opportunity to join the Spring Gully, Denison & Pipelines Asset team in a role based in the Maranoa Region. Working closely with the broader operationally focused work group, you’ll be responsible for:
- Providing environmental support to the business, ensuring compliance of the asset and delivering on projects which protect environmental values.
Key accountabilities include:
- Providing environmental advice to help the business operate in accordance with its regulatory compliance requirements, to implement its internal policies and directives; and to manage its environmental risks
- Investigating environmental incidents
- Implementing and managing environmental assurance and compliance activities within Origin’s systems
- Providing input and operational advice in communication with Regulators
- Developing, reviewing and submitting statutory required reports (e.g., Annual Environmental Returns)
- Coordinating and facilitating the business’ input into statutory required third-party audits and regulatory compliance inspections and audits.
- Managing Contractors to safely and compliantly deliver environmental scopes of work
- Identifying opportunities to develop efficiencies, reduce costs and add value to business operations
- Developing and amending environmental management plans and procedures
IS THIS YOU?
The ideal candidate must have:
- Hands-on environmental compliance experience working within the CSG, oil and gas, mining and resources industries or on major construction projects
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental engineering or other relevant discipline
- Experience in managing and implementing environmental scopes of work, in addition to managing contractors to safely deliver scopes of work
- Outstanding interpersonal and engagement skills with experience working closely with technical specialists and operators
- Demonstrated skills interpreting environmental legal requirements and applying them in day to day operations
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving, evolving environment
