About the Role
Community of Practice Framework and Standards
- Leads the Quilter Environment and Release Management Community of Practice through developing, implementing and maintaining the Environment and Release framework.
- Defines and manages Environment and Release governance, including, principles, practices and standards aligned to Quilter policies and standards.
- Ensures Environment and Release management capability is effectively planned, resourced and deployed.
- Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement, optimisation and innovation and leads the implementation of best practice initiatives to continually improve Environment and Release Management capability, including the use of DevOps tooling.
- Ensures stakeholders have insights into quality, risk, cost and status of services to be transitioned into the technology estate through detailed and accurate metrics and reporting.
Environment & Release Management
- Assesses requirements and provisions the technical environments required to enable successful testing, production deployment and project warranty support of applications and systems.
- Ensures the continuous maintenance and integrity of test environments for defined projects.
- Assesses technical and resource dependencies associated with programme and project release plans.
- Advises projects on risk-based options for technical environment provisioning and management.
- Works with project teams to align projects and planned changes with scheduled releases and leads the Release Management activity accordingly.
- Manages a set of DevOps tools that support the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Maintains and escalates issues, risks and dependencies in ample time for remediation as required.
- Manages test data provisioning and suitability in conjunction with the environment owners.
- Maintains detailed records of the infrastructure functionality, configuration, capability and use of each environment.
- Monitors, manages and reports progress on environment and release activity to stakeholders.
- Works with Service Management owners to enable requirements for service availability to be agreed and met.
- Collaborates with IT Operations to ensure that Release Management activity complies with Change Management processes and controls.
- Maintains a rolling planning window of release activity across multiple projects.

About You
- Demonstrable experience of successful Release Management and Deployment Management in a technically demanding environment.
- Demonstrable experience of successful Environment or Technical Project Management in a technically demanding environment.
- Experience with DevOps practices and implementing automation.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Provisioning tools e.g. Jenkins, Ansible, etc.
- Strong knowledge of the IT delivery lifecycle, associated methodologies and their practical application.
- Experience of working closely with 3rd party suppliers.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with previous line management experience.
- Compelling experience in Stakeholder Management.
- Knowledge/Experience of Financial Services preferred.
Qualifications required:
- Prince II required.
- ITIL Foundation & key intermediate qualifications desirable.
