About this role

As part of Competition Finance, this role will sit within a team responsible for preparing our annual Regulatory Financial Statements (RFS). They are a set of statements that display our profitability in markets in which we’re deemed to have significant market power (SMP) by Ofcom.

This role will lead the Run Control Team which has responsibility for running the calculation system that produces the Regulatory Financial Statements (RFS) published annually.

You’ll have the following responsibilities

  • Run and manage the cost allocation system, generating the market results used in the Regulatory Financial Statements
  • Ensure runs take place and are completed as planned, gaining agreement for the timetable from Competition Senior Finance Managers
  • Coach and develop your team, allowing them to grow and progress their careers
  • Build relationships with colleagues across BT, cultivating good relationships with the wider Competition Finance team and the application support teams
  • Deliver improvements, living our values by embracing and instigating tactical improvement projects, delivering benefits across our team

You’ll have the following skills & experience

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience
  • Strong understanding of core Microsoft Excel techniques
  • Experience in other MS Office applications (i.e. PowerPoint, Word)
  • Track record of delivering significant departmental improvements
  • Motivation to take on responsibility within a high performing team
