Job Description Summary
The role of the Finance function is to drive value through modelling, reporting and analysis of our core financial metrics. As a result of Solvency II and the new IFRS 17 standards the data used by finance is a critical element of the process and needs to be handled professionally. As a result the finance data warehouse is now a critical system that needs developed, maintained and validated on a regular basis.
Finance Solutions is accountable for the development of a number of Finance systems including the data warehouse and actuarial models and the development, maintenance and outputs from. The team develops and maintains a high-quality data resource that, through a chain of information and knowledge, supports the business goals of the organisation. This team drives and manages the data, ensuring design principles are embedded and that they are the single point of contact for projects and change.
The team is also responsible for the design and automation of the core reporting that supports all financial reporting both internally (i.e. Boards) and externally (i.e. Statutory accounts & regulatory returns). It is subject to the Sarbanes Oxley framework and is expected to operate with a high level of professionalism.
The function governs appropriate and controlled use of data, working with IT and the wider business to manage provenance data for the organisation.
Job Description
We are looking for a project manager who will help the Finance Solutions team to plan, resource, communicate and ultimately deliver a while variety of development activity to support a number of critical business initiatives at both the local and enterprise level. The candidate will develop, then maintain a unitfied project plan that Finance Solutions Management will use to track progress against the agreed initiatives.
Many of the Finance Solution Projects will be part of a wider portfolio of approved regulatory and discretionary projects to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality. The project manager will therefore be expected to actively drive project delivery acting on and removing blockers as they occur, escalating issues and seeking guidance from the Lead Project Managers and Portfolio Managers as appropriate.
The role holder will also develop a number of support frameworks the team will use to help communicate with stakeholder and management demands on the team, such as local incidents, working groups and steering commitees, resource trackers and milestone charts. The role holder will also lead on budgetary tracking and lead on engaging with the governance bodies (PMOG) to provide progress updates, RAID log management and budgetary drawdown and change request. The candidate should be highly motivated, flexible and be willing to work with, assist and get involved in various aspects of development as required.
