Steel Dynamics (SDI) is one of the largest and most diversified domestic steel producers and metal recyclers in the United States, with estimated steelmaking and coating capacity of approximately 13 million tons. We have three reporting segments: steel operations, metals recycling operations, and steel fabrication operations. SDI is a leading North American steel producer with a differentiated and proven business model that includes:
· Consist best-in-class performance—we led North American steel peers in EBITDA margin in each of the last 10 years.
· Differentiated business model delivering strong profitability and cash flow—we have a high value-added product mix and diversified customer base that drives strong free cash flow conversion.
· Smart growth: gaining market share and growing with customers—we have organic and transformational growth that drives supply-chain differentiation and higher steel mill utilization.
· 100% of steel produced with electric-arc-furnace (EAF) technology—this has significantly much lower environmental impact than traditional technologies, with recycled scrap as our primary raw material.
· Strong balance sheet provides strategic flexibility for current operations and prudent growth—we are committed to maintaining our investment grade ratings.
· Sustainable shareholder value creation and distribution growth—we maintain a positive dividend profile complemented by share repurchases when appropriate.
SDI has been recognized in 2021 by Fortune magazine as one of the “World’s Most Admired Companies”. This recognition is a testimony to the strong character and determination of our teams. It is the passion, innovation, and dedication of our employees to each other and to a spirit of excellence that propels SDI to the highest standards of operational and financial performance.
Located in Huntington, West Virginia, Steel of West Virginia (SWVA) is one of SDI’s EAF steel mills, producing a wide array of specialty merchant bar quality products and frequently performing value-added fabrication and finishing operations on those products, such as cutting to length, additional straightening, hole punching, shot blasting, welding, galvanizing, and coating. Through this array of products and additional finishing, SWVA creates custom finished products that are generally placed directly into our customers’ assembly operations. SWVA is also on the forefront of the use of robotic technology in many of its operations.
The SWVA financial controller position is an exciting leadership opportunity for anyone who enjoys a dynamic work environment and collaborating with both local and corporate team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accuracy and timely reporting of all the division’s financial data and will play a key role within the location’s management team in producing annual and monthly forecasts/budgets, analyzing operating and financial results to provide input to optimize earnings, and developing business strategies to determine cash allocation options. Further, the successful candidate will also be participating in other Company-wide SDI initiatives.
