Overview
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for an Analyst, GIS (Geographical Information System) to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, GIS in the Asset Integrity department within the Technical Services Unit (TSU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain GIS software and infrastructure;
- Assist with the development and enhancement of new and current GIS applications;
- Manage the systems and databases related to pipeline information and the integrity process, including data quality control and loading;
- Interact with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure necessary information and data sets integrate into the GIS and supporting applications;
- Perform GIS and data support for annual pipeline risk assessment and class location analysis, alongside the pipeline integrity process; and
- Contribute to a team environment that values inclusion and diversity.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in GIS with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional GIS experience;
- Pipeline knowledge is considered a strong asset;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to liaise with multiple stakeholders to understand requirements, present, train and support GIS applications;
- Research and implement new concepts, strategies and/or innovative solutions;
- Strong skills with Esri applications such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal and Web AppBuilder;
- Strong knowledge of ArcGIS web maps, geodatabase management and industry best practices related to GIS servers and applications;
- Ability to develop Esri web mapping applications with standard and custom widgets;
- Plan and execute ArcGIS Enterprise deployment and software upgrades;
- GIS server migrations considered a strong asset;
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (SLQ server, Oracle) utilizing queries, stored procedures and views;
- Utilize programming languages including .NET/C#, ArcPy, ModelBuilder, and Python to develop custom tools and ArcGIS Pro add-ins;
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of applications, especially Excel and Access; and
- Experience with VertiGIS Geocortex Essentials is considered an asset.
