Global Commodity Leader

What we are looking for:

 

We are looking for a Global Sourcing Leader responsible for implementing cost savings initiatives and mitigating supply continuity risk. Specific responsibilities include development of strategic sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, identification of cost savings opportunities and overall management of supplier relationships. Total spend responsibility of $175M annually.

 

 

What you will be responsible for in this role:

 

  • Work closely with the Finance managers and functional leaders to drive deflation and usage reduction
  • Define project scope and lead project execution to deliver on AOP savings of deflation and usage
  • Develop new sources of supply to minimize risk to the supply chain or to meet new business requirements
  • Maintain sourcing metrics and scorecards for performance measurement
  • Analyze part level data to develop phase-in/phase-out transitions
  • Partner with product engineering, materials and quality to drive local projects
  • Support Dover Corporate Commodity initiatives to leverage total Dover spend with supplier contracts & services
  • Improve payment terms with a target average 90 days
  • Serve as primary strategic interface between suppliers and key businesses stakeholders
  • Oversee the development, deployment and direction of complex programs and processes in collaboration with Senior Global Sourcing Manager and supply chain leaders
  • Prepare summary reports of Sourcing activities for use in presentations to various executives and Member departments
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure contract incentives are received according to the terms of the contract
  • Manage all aspects of the contract portfolio including disposition of all contracts prior to expiration date (renewal, extension, archive) and contract performance
  • Participate in team problem solving as part of a continuous improvement culture
  • Responsible for overall Supply Base performance in terms of cost , working capital and performance
  • Provide input to inform the top-down target setting process and drive the bottom-up Sourcing Roadmap budget
  • Engage with key stakeholders on spend, budget visibility, defined roadmaps and driving adhesion to commodity strategy,
  • Manage strategic suppliers and deal with high level decision makers
  • Accountable for the Commodity spend and Sourcing economic performance
  • Act as a focal point and partner with key stakeholders, ensuring full understanding and support of strategic category initiatives
  • Contribute to the optimization of the organization regarding processes, policy, tools and reporting

 

What are the basic qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other relevant education track
  • 7+ years of strategic sourcing leadership experience

 

What are the preferred qualifications?

 

  • Knowledge of HVAC-R industry
