The Graduate ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting the monitoring, maintenance and upgrades of critical operational electronic, information technology and engineering/industrial control and safety critical systems, including CCTV and Telecommunications Networks, Electronic Toll Collection and Operations Management and Control Systems (OMCS).

 

Our world-leading Intelligent Transport Systems teams invent roads for the future. They make toll collections easy and electronic. This team makes our roads talk. They build advanced control systems that monitor and manage traffic on the road – that can predict when an accident is more likely to happen. They make roads ready for driverless cars. And they plan smart traffic flow and signalling to get us where we’re going faster. You will have opportunities on city shaping projects and to be at the forefront of changes to the way people travel.

The impact you’ll have

 

You will support engineers and provide effective and efficient support to our motorway operations teams.

You’ll conduct maintenance of roadside tolling equipment

You will make recommendations for our systems and implement improvements

Provide advice and contribute to the development and application of technical governance policies and procedures

You’ll help prepare our systems for the future, embedding the latest thinking from network and cyber security, automation and data analytics

The talents you’ll bring

 

You will have a tertiary degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Information Technology

You’ll be keen to learn – ITS is an ever-evolving technology

Having great communications skills will mean you are at ease when liaising with internal stakeholders and external contractors

Working with a range of colleagues, you’ll be keen to provide support with project management, delivery and the support of asset management

A keen sense of curiosity and drive for innovation and continuous improvement
