Head of Legal Entity Reporting

The Opportunity:

The Head of Legal Entity Reporting will lead and direct a team of finance professionals that provides management with relevant financial information, to uphold a high quality of service and meet deadlines.

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in Operations, Tax, Actuarial, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Underwriting and in Group Finance in order to determine requirements and understand issues

  • Design, build and enhance a reporting and operational framework in order to meet requirements of key stakeholders plus statutory and regulatory reporting submissions

  • Produce reports for presentation to the EO executives and Boards on financial performance on a regular and ad hoc basis

  • Ensure that financial data and reports comply with the appropriate management, statutory and regulatory requirements, plus QBE Group accounting guidance and best practice guidelines

  • Manage the preparation and production of regular reporting to Group ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

  • Coordinate the review of all senior management and executive financial reports, plus external statutory and regulatory reports.

  • Assist in the development of solutions to changing requirements placed on the finance and accounting function and seek methods to improve the processes

  • Regularly monitor and review reporting requirements (including documentation of procedures) in order to ensure compliance

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to understand their issues and determine their requirements

  • Maintain regular communication with peers across QBE, as appropriate to ensure consistency, transfer of knowledge and promotion of best practice

  • Produce and submit all executive management reports, statutory reports, regulatory returns and Group finance reports in line with specified timescales to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements

  • Lead and manage a team of finance staff, to ensure that the overall output and quality of the service provided by the team is within specified levels

  • Motivate and develop the team so as to ensure the required standards of performance, and support the continuing personal and professional development of all team members

  • Recruit new staff or transfer of finance staff within QBE where appropriate in order to maintain high levels of abilities and skills within team

You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Experience of working in a finance team with post qualified experience gained in insurance, preferably with Lloyd’s market exposure

  • Proven successful track record of managing a team of finance staff

  • Experience of working within a complex financial services organisation

  • Knowledge of the current statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to your area of responsibility

  • Knowledge of London market insurance practices including an understanding of Solvency II reporting requirements and the Lloyd’s market
