Health & Safety Coordinator EXT

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Tubular Products Cedar Springs is seeking qualified internal and external applicants for the position of Health & Safety Coordinator. Responsibilities include leading the division in all aspects of safety & health and being an integral part of the corporate-wide safety team.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leadership role for the entire division in promoting Nucor’s challenge to become the world’s safest steel company.
• Leadership role in managing the Safety and Health Department including execution of long-term vision

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 Years of experience as a safety professional in an Industrial setting or equivalent Steel Industry Experience

Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated success leading in safety
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
• Ability to grow and develop individuals both within the department and outside of the department
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Problem Solving Skills
• Ability to develop relationships as a key priority

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene
• Supervisory/Leadership Experience.
• Steel Industry Experience
• Post high school degree(s)
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial hygiene and testing
• Experience with OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program
