Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Tubular Products Cedar Springs is seeking qualified internal and external applicants for the position of Health & Safety Coordinator. Responsibilities include leading the division in all aspects of safety & health and being an integral part of the corporate-wide safety team.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leadership role for the entire division in promoting Nucor’s challenge to become the world’s safest steel company.
- Leadership role in managing the Safety and Health Department including execution of long-term vision
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 Years of experience as a safety professional in an Industrial setting or equivalent Steel Industry Experience
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated success leading in safety
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
- Ability to grow and develop individuals both within the department and outside of the department
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Problem Solving Skills
- Ability to develop relationships as a key priority
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Industrial Hygiene
- Supervisory/Leadership Experience.
- Steel Industry Experience
- Post high school degree(s)
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, industrial hygiene and testing
- Experience with OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program
