Job Summary
The Hybrid Cloud Engineer is someone who is able to work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with multiple platform and application teams across several enterprise lines of business. Your primary responsibilities include delivering the best technical solution across multiple initiatives, with a strong preference for solutions developed with an automation mindset.
The Hybrid Cloud Engineer must have a strong track record managing technical initiatives, and the ability to work closely with different business groups. The optimal candidate is someone who is well versed in multiple datacenter technologies and experienced with managing a large enterprise environment through automation, primarily on-premises, but also potentially in the public cloud.
Responsibilities
- Responding to business needs and evaluating existing infrastructure and systems as they pertain to corporate standards and industry best practices.
- Seeking continuous improvement within the private cloud infrastructure domain, with a primary focus on VMware.
- Designing and implementing systems with high availability, with the goal to avoid unintentional downtime and mitigate service interruptions.
- Maintaining reporting and metrics for leadership related to audit/compliance, services availability, performance, and capacity planning.
- Plan and perform periodic maintenance/patching of VMware environments as required.
- Approach all tasks with an automation first mindset, with the strong inclination towards managing infrastructure as code.
- Lead/Participate critical enterprise-wide projects as we expand the capabilities through our various private and potentially public cloud initiatives.
