Job summary
Inspects metal castings for dimensional conformance to specifications by using hard point and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Ultrasonic gauge (UT) and all hand held measuring devices in accordance with blue print specifications by performing the following duties.
Job Responsibilities
Ability to read and follow the information on work instructions.
Record data either manually or by computer as required.
Read and apply the information per work instructions.
Ability to perform gauge qualify operations to required tolerances.
Ability to correct all out of tolerance by blending, straightening, etc.
Ability to correctly set up castings for datum machining to required tolerances.
Ability to perform datum machining on castings, maintaining required tolerances.
Check specified dimensions of products to program.
Rejects defective parts, and marks casting and records deviations on associated maps/AQL’s.
Competently operates and maintains CMM unit within +/_ .001”
Ability to review CMM report and disposition report to mark parts for weld and blend in rework of castings.
Gauge maintenance to include checks to make sure gauge is operational and clean after use.
Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic requirements
Education: This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience: requires a minimum of three months manufacturing or related experience and or training.
