ABOUT OUR OPERATION
Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 is anticipated to be the last year of the Meadowbank mine production and it is now transitioning to process the satellite deposit Amaruq for August 2019.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Electrical and Power Plant Supervisor, the Instrumentation Technician will perform his/her duties as a member of the Energy & Infrastructure Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Field and programming troubleshooting / adjustments of equipment;
- Work on the programming and update of our PLC program, HMI, SCADA, and network;
- Configure, update programable components (SEL relays, VFD drives, etc.);
- Work on instruments ranging from pressure transducers, load cell, flow controllers, various level monitors and temperature sensors; ensure all systems are wired to communicate with PLC;
- Responsible for instrumentation equipment maintenance;
- Ensure that the instrument readings are reliable and accurate at all times;
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
- Report all accidents to supervisor;
- Any other duties required by the Supervisor.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- College Degree in Instrumentation and Control or equivalence;
- 5 years of experience as Programmer or Instrumentation Technician;
- Wonderware system knowledge is considered an asset;
- Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
- Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule:
Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
