About the Role:
Our insurance team are a critical component of our broader Finance function who are responsible for ensuring that we identify risks, inform the business on treatment of insurable risks, purchase suitable insurance policies, support our commercial teams’ contractual negotiations with counterparties, and ensure compliance with statutory, legal and policy obligations.
Reporting into the Group Insurance Manager our in-house team, who oversee one of the largest insurance programmes in the global energy market, are looking for a motivated professional to join the team in delivering exceptional outcomes for Woodside.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multiple internal teams and lead insurance solution discussions across corporate, , developments and exciting new growth projects including those in the new energy space.
The role is fast paced with multiple projects at any one time, offering a diverse workload. You will be involved in all aspects of the Insurance lifecycle, which will provide a range of development and growth opportunities.
Technical aspects of the role include:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategy to insure Woodside’s assets and liabilities
- Ensure international offices, assets and activities are appropriately insured
- Meet with business units on insurance related matters and articulate insurance position
- Represent Woodside in its interactions with its joint venture partners
- Timely, accurate and professional advice to the commercial function on indemnity and insurance clause in contractual arrangements
- Assessment of insurable risks in the context of project development
- Collaboration and development of relationships with internal stakeholders
- Manage the equitable and timely settlement of insurance claims
- Facilitate the placement of Woodside’s insurance policies
- Present business units with insurance budget allocations
Skills & Experience:
You will interact with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, so you will need strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build high trust relationships.
We are looking to engage someone at Adviser level, who has a proven level of experience and knowledge gained in a similar insurance advisory role and /or insurance broking environment.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- An understanding of legislation, contract, tort and statutory liability regimes
- Effective use of Microsoft Excel
- Strong written skills
- Responsiveness to business and stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong project management skills
- Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, finance or related field would be highly regarded (but not essential)
