Job Role: The Solution Architect will design and maintain KDDI Europe IoT solutions based on KDDI Europe business priorities, customer requirements and supplier capabilities. Interact with customers and suppliers to establish customer needs and technical requirements. Provide technical support through the sales process in marketing, pre-sales, implementation and maintenance.

Main KPIs are:

  • Design and successful customer implementation of a set of IoT solutions.
  • Successful handover of new IoT offerings to customer operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Help develop an IoT and Mobile ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to design solutions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to understand business needs.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance to solution architectural design in the implementation of projects.
  • Ensure successful handover of all new solutions to operations ensuring service readiness.
  • Provide architectural guidance to co-ordinate design efforts across KDDI Europe, customers and suppliers.
  • Render consulting and technical support services on project implementation to the sales team.
  • Explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals.
  • Keep accurate record of materials used, expected deliverables, and milestones achieved.
  • Ensure that solution milestones are accomplished at the right time.
  • Review the proposal of vendors and suppliers to ensure that quality inputs are delivered at appropriate cost.
  • Monitor the activities of external programmers or developers on IT solution projects.
  • Identify and mitigate existing business risk or risks associated with solution architecture.
  • Ad hoc requests from your line manager.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Communications, Systems Engineering or similar.
Significant, proven experience in:

  • developing IoT and Mobile solutions, including software design.
  • IT platform implementation in a highly technical and analytical role.
  • application architecture, database architecture, and networking.
  • working with customers to implement large-scale solutions.
  • IoT, Cloud and Mobile technologies and communications protocols.
  • SIM technologies.
  • e2e IoT Security.
  • IoT devices
Demonstrable ability in:

  • Leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development life cycle
  • At least one vertical domain in IoT/embedded/M2M industry (i.e. health, asset tracking, smart utilities, etc)
  • Embedded or real time operating systems, and/or driver/kernel development
  • Programming applications backed by cloud services
  • Adapting to new technologies and learning quickly
