Role:

This role contributes to deliver operational objectives for the Strategic Indirect spend across the region.

 

The Category Specialist support role is responsible to manage all strategic sourcing activities across for IT aligned with key stakeholders.

 

This includes the planning and execution of procurement strategies to deliver value benefits and innovation to the organisation, but equally within the policy compliance and governance model, while meeting the needs of the several business areas

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the RFx process for related projects across the organisation within the respective major category
  • Renewal of existing contracts, supplier performance management and contract management
  • Having a leading role in service reviews, contacts, supplier performance management and contract management.
  • Complete strategic tender processes and present to management, with a recommended business case proposal, supplier sourcing decisions and implementing plans.
  • Generation of status reports into the project management team covering key performance measurements and business planning activity
  • Analysing SAP Supplier data and presenting management reports

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required/desirable:

  • Experience of procurement within IT industry
  • Proven track record of supplier management, including evidence of effective negotiation skills within high value procurement
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills at all levels including senior management with ability to influence an audience in a logical and persuasive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently in order to achieve set objectives through logical approach and technique
  • Good presentation skills and strong data analysis
  • Strong decision making

  • Must be confident in chairing, driving and supporting regular internal customer engagement meetings around performance, improvements, escalations and general stakeholder relationships
  • Be able to confidently manage multiple projects while delivering BAU activities.
  • Personal motivation – ability to work on your own initiative. Demonstrate passion, enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Workload management and prioritisation – ability to clearly evaluate amount and materiality of operational and non-operational tasks, then prioritise in order to achieve.
