TRANSACTION MANAGER – LEASE ADVISORY

This is a career development opportunity sitting within the dedicated Retail Account Team for a large financial services Client comprising several workstream Transaction Managers, an Account Lead and Account Coordinator.

Our client has circa 300 lease related transactions per annum. The role will be to take responsibility for the smooth delivery of transaction management across:

  • Rent reviews
  • Lease renewals
  • Regears
  • Break options removals

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction management across UK & Ireland for global leading bank retail portfolio
  • Identifying portfolio optimisation opportunities and managing critical dates
  • Working closely with the client’s real estate team, JLL account team and reporting into JLL retail TM Lead
  • Liaise with other stakeholders such as Finance, Capital Projects and CRMs
  • Working with JLL network across the region and best in class / alliance partners
  • Drafting business cases to obtain business/ stakeholders approvals
  • Manage leases throughout the term, supporting in EM & lease administration issues
  • Updating Transaction information including WIP and other reports requested by the Client

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the management and delivery of retail Lease Advisory activity between JLL London and regional offices
  • Responsible for the preparation of documents to assist with strategic portfolio decisions (break options, regears, at risk branches) and the management of subsequent activity as appropriate.  
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate data systems (WIP) for caseload
  • Ensure the appropriate Lease Advisory reports required at different stages of the process are prepared accurately and promptly.
  • Assemble MI, data and trend information as required for internal and external reporting.
  • Work closely with the JLL Estate Management on all Lease Advisory activity.
  • Work closely with JLL service lines including Building Consultancy, Rating and Planning Teams.
  • Ability to assist the Retail Account Lead in all aspects of transaction management.

Person Specification/Requirements

  • Possess good market knowledge and insight of the UK & Ireland market including all aspects of Lease Advisory
  • Possess good working knowledge of the Landlord & Tenant Act
  • Ability to motivate, develop and challenge internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly and quarterly internal and external meetings.
  • Develop close working relationships with JLL Lease Advisory teams in London and the Regional offices.
  • The ability to confidently manage upward as well as downward.
  • Property background with understanding of Lease Advisory and Asset Management.
  • Strong collaborator and willingness to work as part of a larger (and often remote) team.
  • Ability to make sound and confident decisions and recognise the need to seek senior support where required.
  • Ability to work in fast moving retail environment is essential.
  • Good time management and process skills required.
  • Self-motivated individual who can drive performance.
  • Strong IT skills and ideally a member of the RICS
