LEAN Manufacturing Manager (APAC)

As The Lean Manufacturing Manager, You Will

  • Conduct all duties in compliance with all Huntsman Corporate and Huntsman Polyurethanes EHS, Business Conduct Policies, guidelines and the local site lifesaving rules at all times.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring of the LEAN manufacturing methodology to all downstream sites to ensure that the techniques and mindsets become established across the workforce and that targeted delivery of the manufacturing process is robustly applied to maximize benefits
  • Carry out rigorous diagnosis to define improvement opportunities supported by data analysis including value stream mapping and OEE reporting.
  • Manage a complex portfolio of Lean projects with a potential of high impact to the business, in a geographically and culturally diverse group.
  • Ensure the development and long-term sustainability of a LEAN manufacturing program to meet business targets through development and execution of focused improvement plans.
  • Support and develop the downstream performance measurement system through the Tiers of leadership from shop floor to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Provide active membership of the corresponding Cross Functional teams and work across a wide range of internal personnel in a manner which builds trust, buy-in and initiates a sustained cultural change
  • Implement a strong project management culture to ensure most efficient resource utilisation and decision taking.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline with combined experience in site engineering and continuous improvement roles within the Chemical, Automotive or General Manufacturing sectors.
  • Formal qualification in 6Sigma and/or internally trained in a matured Lean/CI program
  • In-depth knowledge of how to capture, promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives which deliver cost saving and boost production efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills to influence and engage at shop floor and senior management / director level whilst being confident in leading cross functional teams in a remote capacity
  • Ability to manage a diverse project portfolio as well as be able to set priorities in a complex environment.
  • Innovative and creative mindset with the ability to deliver solutions and generate new ideas and approaches with local manufacturing teams.
  • Fluency in English plus one additional European language (German, Italian etc) would be highly desirable.
  • Able to work in a remote / regional based role which involves significant (50%+) travel across the APAC region.
