Responsibilities
- Work with automation systems, well control and liquid level monitors.
- Seek ways to reduce direct lease operating expenses.
- Operate wells and artificial lift methods to optimize production in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Observe, record and input oil and gas production volumes daily.
- Operate Ovintiv properties to ensure all regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance issues and goals are met.
- Lead by example in areas such as EHS, maintenance and record keeping.
- Check production units daily and responsible for creating and maintaining daily production reports.
- Schedule oil and produced water movement.
- Work on all types of production equipment, pump valves, etc. perform maintenance and troubleshooting on all types of production equipment.
- Monitor chemical usage at wells.
- Perform various other field related activities as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in oil and gas industry preferred.
- Knowledge of BLM Onshore Oil and Gas Orders preferred.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with SCADA and Cygnet preferred.
- Safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
- Ability to satisfy Department of Justice requirements with or without assistance from Ovintiv.
