Job Description
Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel, based out of India, to support commercial contracts and other legal matters for our Asia Pacific and European regions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional who wants to work with a high growth company and an expanding legal department as an inside counsel. Arista is in its early stages of growth in the Asia Pacific and European geographies. As it builds a channel network, brings on-board new customers and accelerates its acquisitions, this will be a challenging and complex role with many opportunities for professional growth. The Legal talent team in India will also provide support to the US operations. The right person will become a part of the elite Corporate Legal team and play a critical role as Arista adds on more geographies, customers and products.
What does the job involve?
Providing in-house legal services to Arista’s sales and commercial teams in India, East Asia and Europe, the Corporate Counsel will:
● Draft, review and negotiate a wide array of commercial agreements, including global
master services agreements, licensing agreements, subcontractor and partnership
agreements and nondisclosure agreements;
● Be experienced in quickly and independently drafting legal documents;
● Implement and help to develop and champion contracting and other policies and
processes and provide assistance to seek approvals on deviations of standard contract
or other policies;
● Provide general counseling and management of a full spectrum of business and legal
issues, which, in addition to licensing and intellectual property matters, may include
transaction structuring and support, data protection, competition law and trade
regulations, and conflicts of interests;
● Identify risks and issues, suggest alternative solutions;
● Act as bridge and point of contact between functions and business for resolving legal
issues;
● Contribute to developing and maintaining Legal Team know-how and templates; and
● Perform other duties as assigned or required
What are we looking for?
● Law degree from National Law School or equivalent and all bar admissions
necessary to function in-house;
● Minimum of 12 years commercial contracts experience either in a law firm or in-
house setting, preferably with a strong background in sales agreements involving
hardware and software;
● Proven ability to provide practical, solutions focused legal advice;
● Excellent negotiation skills, including first-hand experience in leading negotiations
across multiple jurisdictions;
● Knowledge of Indian and international compliance legislation and associated
requirements, e.g. GDPR;
● Understanding of intellectual property issues;
● Ability to maintain positive relationships with counterparts and customers
throughout negotiations;
● Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent analytical skills, and the
ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
● Team player with ability to work on their own initiative; and
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
