You will join our Center of Excellence, Key actor in the design and development or interior train parts for Rolling Stock , with more than140 people, more than 20 different nationalities , designer, buyer, industrial, quality, Project Managers, & Experts , working both for French & international projects.
What are my responsibilities?
Reporting to the Interior Product Engineering Manager, the Lighting expert is accountable for the interiors parts engineering of lighting system: passenger area lighting, cabin lighting, front end lighting.
He is the lighting products referent in Alstom
Responsibilities
Projects
- Define Technical Specifications for lighting system
- Define lighting design in accordance with the Lux requirements, power consumptions and Design book
- Define the Lighting system validation plan, tests procedures and follow-up the type tests
- Lead the mock-up realizations and validation
- Support to First Article Inspections at suppliers’ premises
Tenders
- Interface with Design & Style department for the lighting design definition
- Define lighting solution for tenders in line with customer requirements
Lighting Referent
- Define the lighting products strategy for Alstom
- Create catalogue solutions and design guidelines for Alstom engineering
- Animate a network in Alstom for all technical people working on lighting.
- Be the representative of Alstom for the external activity (norms, exhibitions)
- Support projects in case of explanations with customers
- Provide support to suppliers in development and manufacturing phase
R&D and Innovation
- Lead R&D activities on lighting.
- Develop innovative lighting solutions
Support to Sourcing
- Analyse suppliers’ offers
- Support lighting sourcing strategy on technical aspect
- Participate to Business Award preparation

Minimum qualifications
- Engineering degree: Optical/Mechanical
- Engineer with 3 years experiences in lighting in Railway industry (Preferred)
- Knowledge of LUX lighting simulation tools
- Knowledge of electrical LV,
- Connector and pin out knowledge will be a plus
- Ability to prioritize and to work effectively under pressure to meet the deadline
- Rigorous and autonomous, with the ability to analyze subjects in detail and restitute them clearly
- Skills in electronic and lighting system definition.
- Experience into managing suppliers
- Ability to work in an international environment and matrix organization structure.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
