Management Accountant

To support the operation of our substantial assets, we are seeking talented staff to join our Finance team.

 

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Perth-based Finance team.

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role will provide management accounting services to the Production Support team and assist the Offshore Production team when required.

You will also provide internal reporting oversight with a focus on actual and budgeted costs and provide forecasting and reporting whilst ensuring that consistent methodologies regarding accurate cost management of planned activities are applied.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of finance services through continuous improvement of processes (e.g. budgeting/forecasting, reporting, accruals, coding, etc.), and participating in the Finance team’s development.
  • Ensure that the Production Support team complies with and is aligned to company Finance cost management practices, including the development of work procedures and guidelines.
  • Receive journal and accrual inputs prepared by the offshore operatives that work with the Management Accounting team and review to ensure accurate processing
  • Ensure integrity of processes such as CATS, assessment cycles, CO-PS WBS, CO-CCA, CO-IO
  • Review reconciliation inputs prepared by the offshore Management Accounting team.
  • Support the coordination the consolidation of business department impacts on cash calls, ensuring inputs are collected in a way they can be allocated to an AFE or Company.
  • Manage reporting with the support of the offshore Management Accounting team
  • Improve the Business through analysis and review
  • Work with Systems Accounting on changes to ensure costing and reporting compliance while improving efficiency
  • Support audits (including non-operator audits across all Logistics activities, including ensuring all processes and systems are well documented and execution will support a clean audit outcome

 

Key qualifications, skills and experience required:

 

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting is required along with CA/CPA/CIMA (or similar international recognition)
  • You should have relevant post graduate experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with SAP – demonstrably capable – FI/CO PS module with some knowledge of MM, BW and other modules.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills including PowerBI
  • Experience in diverse working environments including E&P operations, projects, exploration, and manufacturing/production also desirable.
  • Ability to determine root cause of issues, position for Finance outcomes to be met while working collaboratively on solutions.
  • Good working knowledge of Australian tax regime.
  • The ability to work with different disciplines and cultures, with collaboration with other team members key to success.
  • Enthusiastic, efficient and the ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Strong planning, organisation and time management skills
