Summary
Lens Tech is looking for a highly motivated Program Manager to manage NPI and sustaining projects of consumer electronic products. You will be responsible for leading the design, development, integration and manufacturing of complex systems. This includes creating development plans, progressing through design phases, proof of concept demonstration, system architecture & integration, verification & validation, and optimization for scalability. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of enabling large cross-functional teams to deliver complex mechanically integrated consumer electronic systems quickly and with high quality. This is a mid-senior-level position, responsible for overall coordination between a US-based customer and Lens teams.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage program schedule, deliverables, budget, critical paths, prioritization during NPI builds.
- Drive drawing releases and tooling kickoff with PD Engineering team and end-customers to meet aggressive schedules.
- Identify and highlight technical risk and mitigation strategies in partnership with impacted teams.
- Drive suppliers /vendors along supply chain and integrate their deliverables and schedules into projects.
- Manage quotation during NPI builds: including sample/fixture/tooling/testing costs.
- Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decision making.
- Offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum of individual contributors to executive management (internal and external).
Qualifications
- BS degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering is required, M.S or MBA is desired.
- Prior experience (5+ years) leading program management or mechanical engineering design of rapid development products comprising multiple materials of high aesthetic quality is needed.
- Experience with any of the following: mechanical enclosures, sheet metal, glass, ceramics, plastic parts, casting, stamping, injection molding, glass machining, tooling, jigs, fixtures.
- Working knowledge of production and quality control procedures used in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with a wide range of individuals from varying economic, social, and educational backgrounds in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin language skills are a plus but not required.
- Willingness and ability to travel to Asia (up to 30%) is required (post covid restriction).
