Mortgage Credit Risk Officer

Mission

  • Provide credit solutions to facilitate sustainable growth, aligned with the Group’s risk appetite; analyze, approve or submit for approval, document and monitor respective risks in Mortgages;
  • Daily risk monitoring of cases escalated: credit facilities, credit exposure, credit grading, single credit excesses and counterparty exposures;
  • Portfolio assessment and identification of potential risks in the Mortgages’ portfolio.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Oversee the activities and work performed by the Lending Administration / Appraisal’s teams for Mortgage cases assessed;
  • Make reasonable credit decisions within his/her own competence and make recommendations for the decisions falling beyond his/her competence and coordinate the submissions of the mortgage files from international locations;
  • Inform adequately and proactively the Group Head of Credit about identified risks and actions taken (especially identifying the cases which should be subject to the supervision of the Recovery team);
  • Support the Group Head of Credit in specific overarching tasks / projects when needed.

Skills and qualifications

  • University degree in economics or finance;
  • Min 6 years of professional experience in the credit sector in a financial institution;
  • Detailed knowledge of mortgage lending products and processes in both fields, credit decisions and credit administration (for Switzerland, UK and French properties preferably);
  • Languages: English is mandatory, French and German would be a plus;
  • Ability to communicate and debate in a well-structured, logical and concise way;
  • Negotiation skills and solution-oriented approach;
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and ability to work under pressure;
  • Team spirit;
  • Capacity to adapt in a new environment
