Operator, Forklift Warehouse

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for pulling, staging, loading and unloading products for customer orders.
  • Safe operation of a Forklift and/or Pallet Jack.
  • Perform pre-load trailer inspections, document findings.
  • Proper use of hand-held tracking/scanning devices.
  • Mark the paperwork properly when making any order or shipment adjustments.
  • Keep accurate records on load sheets, inventory sheets, scrap sheets, and computerized equipment.
  • Ensure proper code date rotation.
  • Proper operation of stretch wrapping equipment.
  • Reports any product/packaging quality issues.
  • Perform product rework, re-package/re-case products as applicable.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities on improving processes.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • The employee will be required to use all personal protective equipment provided by the company, follow safety procedures, policies and safe practices.
  • Must be able to complete and pass the lift truck operation certification.
  • Learn and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and report any deficiencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
  • Physical lifting up to 50-lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Shift flexibility. This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 3-shift, 24/7 operation to support manufacturing.  This can either be days, swing or night shift and also includes working weekends. Workdays and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.
  • Work up to 12-hours per day.

  • Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Good math skills.
  • Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work history.
  • Good attendance is a must.
