Private Equity Compliance Officer

What it’s about

Partners Group’s Compliance business unit is responsible for ensuring that the firm complies with all applicable regulatory requirements and protecting the firm from regulatory and reputational risks. The Regulatory Compliance team Americas manages the compliance program for two Registered Investment Advisers, one Registered Investment Company, one CVM registered entity in Brazil and a Canadian affiliate. The team’s responsibilities include oversight of 3 offices in the US, one each in Brazil and Canada, over 200 employees and all marketing activities in the western hemisphere.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the regional compliance program
  • Interpret and implement US Securities law requirements as they apply to the firm
  • Design and implement innovative product and investment structures, with a focus on separate accounts
  • Identify and address regulatory risk areas
  • Research key considerations relevant to specific clients, products and jurisdictions in the Americas
  • Manage and further develop own service catalogue with full ownership
  • Support business development efforts

 

What we expect

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in private markets and asset management
  • Top academic credentials in law (J.D. or LL.M. preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of ‘40, Investment Company Act of ‘40, Securities Act of ’33, ERISA, State Lobbying Laws, Blue Sky laws and all applicable US Securities Law is required
  • Experience with the current and proposed regulatory environment (SEC, CFTC/NFA, FINRA)
  • Experience with US and Cayman Anti-Money Laundering Laws is a plus
  • Team player and collaborative approach is a must
  • Self-motivated, proactive, intellectually curious individual with strong desire to learn and succeed
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and project & task management skills to manage multiple projects at any one time

  • Partners Group compensation has a long-term outlook and philosophy, and our total compensation emphasizes performance based long-term incentives. Base pay range for this role is $130 – 180k and a performance-based bonus and equity are part of the total compensation package
