Key Accountabilities
- The ability to work independently exists, such that typical assignments can be completed with moderate to minimal supervision:
- Develop and / or execute average complexity projects & assignments per company processes, policies and procedures within schedule & cost budgets
- Solve average complexity plant problems
- Work with all divisions of the complex to solve plant problems. Support with troubleshooting and improvements in technology
- Independently drive projects to completion. Understands how and who to work with to complete an assignment. Results are typically reviewed / critiqued after achievement of pre-established milestones, or work is completed
- Provide technical support to sustain or improve profitability
- Support project teams in following Sasol Business Development & Implementation model for capital projects
- Has a thorough understanding of general technical principles; routinely demonstrates the ability to apply these principles in everyday work
- Develop a strong understanding of the operation of the unit.
- Working knowledge of Safety & Environmental Procedures / Policies that impact operations
- Support the development of operating procedures; review and validate training material; update documents required for ISO certification
- Ensure commissioning activities are conducted and established in a manner compatible with other Lake Charles operations
- Ensure unit readiness and preparation to demonstrate permit compliance
- Develop a strong working relationship with Planning & Optimization and the Business Team to support Unit Optimization
- Use knowledge of variable production cost to direct optimization opportunities and develop project ideas (Stage 1 documents)
- Work with Sales/Marketing and Customer Service
- Support project teams in following Sasol Business Development & Implementation model for capital projects
Formal Education
- BS degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred)
Working Experience
- 3+ years relevant experience preferred
- Experience in a PSM and ISO environment preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
