Product Specialist / Senior Product Analyst

Applications are currently being invited for the role of Product Specialist within the Product & Proposition team.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be passionate about understanding customers’ needs, enjoys working with both internal and external stakeholders and demonstrates strong time management skills. The Product Specialist is responsible for supporting with the product design, product development and the management of the existing product portfolio. This includes the coordinatation of the product performance reviews to deliver against expectation, improve the competitive position and deliver optimal product performance.

This role would suit someone with excellent analytic skills, has a flair for creative thinking and concrete problem solving skills. Solid attention to detail and relationship building skills are vital. The successful candidate will support the Associate Director of Product in the delivery of new products and the management of existing product portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate and support in the development and delivery of the Product strategy, strategic initiatives and Product roadmaps (e.g., positioning statement, problem definition, proposed solutions)
  • Support market segments to pursue, based on market analyses and applicable business criteria
  • Support and follow the product development and product review processes and coordinate the end to end delivery
  • Develop, manage, and oversee project plans to drive the  implementation of new or existing products
  • Gather, analyze, and validate applicable data from internal and external sources (e.g., clients, prospects, potential customers) to identify market characteristics or needs (e.g., market opportunities, financials, technology trends, user preferences and industry or regulatory standards)
  • Produce new or update existing product literature, ensuring it is efficiently delivered to the highest quality standard. Make recommendations and oversee the approvals and sign off process
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the competitive landscape (e.g., strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, gaps and global footprint)
  • Develop and deliver  product training for applicable internal and external audiences (e.g., functional teams,  brokers, TPA’s and partners)
  • Provide product support and monitoring to address ongoing questions and known issues
  • Work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and distribution channels to deliver and support the product strategy and the day to day responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of team goals and provide support on implementing goals.

 

Qualifications – External

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the healthcare or medical insurance industry
  • Strong attention to detail and good commercial acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Highly motivated and driven with an ability to meet challenging deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accredited Product Advisor or Certified Insurance Practitioner or other relevant insurance qualifications
  • Preference for experience in the private medical insurance market either on international or domestic basis
