Production Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day assigned Milling production operations. Support the Plant Manager in monitoring and improving plant productivity.

Core Functions:

• Cultivate a safety culture where unsafe acts are not tolerated and employees and management have a common goal of zero injuries
• Oversee assigned department production shift activities (elevator, mill and packaging operations) to ensure operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency
• Manage monthly sanitation inspections and lead, monitor and ensure corrective actions are completed as necessary
• Track and report facility productivity improvements
• Approve daily reports and KPRs for the two or more departments
• Support and develop Milling and/or Packaging Superintendents/Supervisors in operations issues and trouble shooting
• Assist the Plant Manager in planning annual shutdowns, if applicable
• Oversee the Process Safety Management programs
• Work with the Safety/Environmental Manager to ensure compliance in all aspects
• Responsible for developing and driving Operations Excellence Plans to help meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement throughout the facility
• Support the continuous improvement activities and act as a change agent for any changes that occur in the facility
• Monitor KPR’s throughout the facility and help develop plans to bring teams in line with Operations Excellence goals
• Participate in daily production meetings to remain informed and ensure that the activities of all production operations management are aligned
• Monitor and manage product yields
• Participate in new employee selection process
• Assist Department Superintendents and Shift Supervisors with personnel issues by participating in investigations and recommending corrective actions as necessary

• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide coaching to employees under his/her responsibility as well as safety, operational and Bunge’s policies training

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and years of experience) in milling, extrusion, and/or related and applicable activities
• High School graduate or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed

Work Schedule:  Standard (On-call 24/7 as needed)
