Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist – Planner to join our team at our seed Alfalfa production facility in Homedale, ID. At Homedale, we love to give back to our community and are active participants in donating Bikes to children in need as well as supporting schools and local 4H kid’s sponsorships whenever possible!

As the Production Specialist – Planner, you will manage and coordinate product selection and blending if needed for Corteva Branded products, Private Label and International orders.  Ensure that quality standards are upheld.  Assist with instructing and coordination of Homedale and 3rd party support of packaging, shipping and customer relations.  Maintain good communications with customers, Supply Chain, Commercial Team, Scheduler and Inventory Coordinator.  If you value a business and team with high ethical standards and a strong safety culture, then this is the place for you! Responsibilities – What You Will Do:
How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!

  • Product batch selection and blending of product to meet Corteva brand alfalfa and international orders
  • Assist with Instructing packaging as specified by quality plans standards, includes parent seed request
  • Coordinate, schedule and shipment of orders once completed
  • Rework return and product expiring supply for next season sales volume
  • Assist with Corteva brand product and private label volume forecasting and development of schedule.
  • Prioritize packaging and shipping schedule with Planning team and supply chain direction
  • Communicate frequently with supply chain and commercial team regarding order progress vs planned schedule
  • Provide support to state seed certifying agencies whenever questions arise
  • Advise commercial team lead and supply chain regarding inventory quality or supply challenges
  • Review product test results for quality, refer to Noxious Weed Seed Laws for all states to maintain Corteva’s quality standards
  • Coordinate product transfers between warehouses, approve truck schedules and rates
  • Enter intercompany order confirmation into Pilot
  • Work with the accounting department for invoice approval
  • Coordinate with the quality lab to obtain official certificates of analysis when needed
  • Provide all documentation to assigned inventory coordinator to complete the entry of process records in Pilot to document blends, transfers, coated seed, gains, etc.
  • Monitor lot gains and losses
  • Negotiate best freight rates with carriers on an on-going basis
  • Review freight bills for accuracy
  • Adhere to all safety rules and programs
  • Other duties as required

  • You enjoy working in an office setting, collaborating with many different teams to insure product meets the customers’ expectations!
  • When there is a problem, you see an exciting opportunity to contribute ideas so you can find and implement solutions!
  • You have EITHER a High School diploma/GED equivalent with 2-3 years of Supply Chain, Logistics, Production, Operations, Agriculture, or other related experience OR an Associate’s Degree or Bachler’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or other related fields.
  • You know how to schedule your work with the highest priorities and can manage many different tasks well.  You display a great deal of attention to detail and organization skill.
  • Extra hours?  No problem! You love to get the work done when the peak of the season demands being part of the team!
  • You value serving your customers and have an owner’s mindset to meet the needs of the customer.

Preferences – It Would Be Great If You Have: 

  • Knowledge of production agriculture and associated seed industry.
  • Proficient in computer skills, SAP, Word, Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Logistics knowledge, basics in freight, loading, scheduling freight and understand freight rates.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Love for the World of Agriculture.
  • A strong value in business ethics.
