Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Engineers change how we travel, especially where the brightest ideas and most inspired engineering translate into safer, more sustainable, and more efficient roads. At Transurban, you’ll see ITS through their entire lifecycle, from initial specification, through delivery and on to operations and maintenance. Whether supporting existing systems or developing new ones, your engineering will make communities stronger.
The Project Manager oversees all aspects of a project from planning, to execution through to implementation and transition. Expected projects will range from medium to large infrastructure or ITS projects and span time periods from six months to multiple years. Some projects will involve managing multiple streams of work concurrently.
Our world-leading Intelligent Transport Systems teams invent roads for the future. They make toll collections easy and electronic. This team makes our roads talk. They build advanced control systems that monitor and manage traffic on the road – that use machine learning to predict when an accident is likely to happen. They make roads ready for driverless cars. And they plan smart traffic flow and signalling to get us where we’re going faster.
This is a fixed term 1 year contract.
The impact you’ll have
- You’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered according to the objectives, timeline and budget set out by the sponsor, the EPMO Governance Framework and TAMS – Transurban Asset Management System.
- You’ll monitor alignment between the project, Infrastructure and ITS architecture and other functions within technology and other business units such as Project Delivery
- You’ll have end-to-end management of all project phases from requirements analysis, solution design, development, systems testing, training and implementation in accordance with the project methodology.
- You’ll build relationships that matter, connecting with people in Transurban and out
- You’ll ensure that the project is delivered within the approved budget
- You’ll never stop improving, keeping up to date with emerging technology and our own knowledge base.
The talents you’ll bring
- Degree-qualified in an engineering or ICT field, at least 5 years’ experience in Technology related project management
- Whatever your background – infrastructure, defence, telecommunications, mining, rail, the energy sector – you’ll know how to deliver successfully and collaboratively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- You’ll balance engineering rigour with people focus, so you’ll know all about asset management, maintenance, and project budgets.
- Analytical and incisive, you’ll spot issues and use your own ingenuity – and that of your team – to solve problems collaboratively.
