Position Description:
Ametek is a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices. We’re currently looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our growing team.
The Quality Control Inspector – Candidate will report to the Quality Continuous Improvement Engineer and perform incoming inspection of parts and assemblies to drawing and specifications. This includes, but is not limited to, mechanical dimensional measurement and electrical testing. Coordinate all Calibration systems activities. Be an active participant in Quality and Continuous Improvement Activities. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator and natural leader.
• Responsible for routine record-keeping and database maintenance for systems such as ORACLE and the 1st Article Database.
• Performs Incoming inspection of workmanship to IPC-A-610.
• Responsible for calibration system, including database and record-keeping maintenance, distribution of equipment and interface with calibration supplier.
• Receive and verify all Customer returns via the RA and RMA systems.
• Inspect Purchased components that are identified on the Receiving Traveler as needing to be inspected. Components include but not limited to print circuit boards, electronic assemblies, and mechanical parts.
• Conduct 1st Article Inspection of printed circuit boards, mechanical components, and other components that have been identified as needing 1st Article Inspection.
• Record the 1st Article Inspection results and report them to the buyers and your supervisor.
• Place parts that have been inspected and deemed defective into MRB. Complete the transaction on ORACLE and move the parts to the MRB shelves.
• Assist your supervisor in the disposition of RMA’s.
• Assist and be an active participant in Quality and Continuous Improvement initiatives when opportunities are available.
• Assist in process documentation audits monthly or as required
• Assist in performing outgoing inspection of workmanship to product specification
• Supports AMT’s ISO 9001 Quality System
Position Requirements:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training’ or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
• Basic understanding of electronic components.
• Working knowledge of personal computers – including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
• Working knowledge of ORACLE.
• Ability to learn new software packages.
• Ability to learn Manufacturing Lean Tools.
