Quality Engineer

Essential Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without accommodations
  • Provide engineering support to the Quality department
  • Drive advanced quality product initiatives by working cross functionally with other areas from initial notification through product launch, including PPAP
  • Customer liaison with ownership of inquiries, concerns, issues and general information
  • Thorough understanding of customer scorecards and drive needed improvements
  • Support sourcing with supplier development/approval
  • Draft and revise reports, procedures and documents
  • Lead quality management system reviews
  • Ensure full site quality compliance and maintain sustainable/effective QMS
  • Conducts internal/external product, process, system and layered audits
  • Ensures complaints/failures are resolved timely
  • Identify, implement and support methods to improve site quality metrics including 1st pass yield, scrap, rework and defect reduction
  • Provide active input to continuous improvement
  • Analyze/interpret quality results/information
  • Travel as necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Technical discipline, with at 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of TS16949 & IATF Standards
  • Technical/Analytical
  • Knowledge and application of quality tools for process and product controls
