Engineering System Development is seeking a driven, organized engineer with demonstrated leadership capability and expertise with Infra and/or Equipment related quality systems (Infra EES, EARS, MARS Prime, and IoT) to lead the new Infra & Equipment Quality Systems team.
This Team Representative (TR) will work in a fast-paced, technical environment, and will oversee key aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for systems listed above.
Role and Responsibilities
He or she will provide excellent customer support to other engineering departments, and work closely with other System Technology teams on a variety of high-profile projects and initiatives.
The applicant must be highly accountable, adaptable, and results-oriented.
Lead a team of engineers to achieve success in several disciplines: incident prevention and release success, standardization and reverse-standardization, system stability, customer service, innovation, and career development.
Oversee key aspects of the SDLC for owned systems, including testing, deployment, and automation.
Provide guidance and support to direct reports, including weekly meetings, monthly one-on-ones, annual performance reviews, and performance management.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team and organization.
Lead complex projects that introduce beneficial system functionality to the site and/or users, from start to finish.
Provide excellent customer support to all SAS engineering departments.
Communicate projects, incidents, and other announcements to all levels of the organization.
Contribute to weekly reports, KPI tracking, and other management requests as they arise.
Provide 24×7 on-call support for relevant, urgent factory escalations.
Lead or participate in conference calls with GH counterparts outside of 1st shift hours.
Work days and hours: 1st-Shift. M-F 8am to 5pm.
Skills and Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
Senior Engineer or Staff Engineer with demonstrated leadership capability (formal or informal).
5+ years of experience in a software development or system engineering role.
5+ years at SAS with in-depth experience in one or more systems listed above.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to assess situations, and set priorities.
Experience with existing Infra & Equipment Quality Systems (Infra EES, EARS, MARS Prime, and IoT).
Strong record of improving existing processes through innovation and creative problem solving.
Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
Familiarity with risk assessment strategies and application to change point management.
High-level understanding of SDLC and Object-Oriented Programming.
Ability to read and understand source code.
