The R&D Operations Manager is the R&D Delivery Leader for a portfolio of projects associated to a specific OEM group(s). Responsibilities include but are not limited to, overseeing formation and organization of project specifics in line with OEM specifications; representing the best interests of assigned OEM and advocate on their behalf with in the R&D network; managing R&D cross functional teams across multiple sites to achieve delivery excellence; R&D budget management for assigned OEM.
Your challenges?
Manage R&D cross functional collaboration to ensure deliverables with in project timing, scope and budget
Provide technical leadership and decision making to the OEM R&D team
Develop a culture of high performance, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement within the R&D team
Encourage and ensure R&D team compliance with functional/operational excellence to ensure project delivery is executed effectively and efficiently
Establish success criteria for the assigned R&D team-define high level KPI’s
Collaborate with all supporting departments such as projects, logistics etc. to drive delivery excellence for the assigned OEM
Facilitate regular synchronization with supporting R&D platform and métier peers
Focus on building and managing assigned OEM relationship with Valeo, ensuring communication with the customer is always professional and constructive
Mentor and develop a customer orientated mindset with R&D project leaders within the project
Sponsor innovation and creativity in the development of all products
Give regular status reports and performance metrics for your assigned R&D team
Together with R&D managers identify training requirements for project staff members
Adhere to and coach staff to comply with internal quality system and procedures
People management and completion of annual appraisals
Support RFQ and value engineering (D&D and BOM) from R&D perspective for assigned OEM
Let’s talk about you…
You have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of technical engineering, such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Optical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years managing experience or strong technical leadership
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Experience in Imaging and Optics an advantage
5 years experience in complex multi-disciplinary system development (electronics, software and mechanical)
8 years experience with automotive OEM’s procedures and documentation
