How you will contribute:

In this role you will lead a small team of motivated individuals and own a portfolio of projects covering the breadth of our business: From helping us to move all our packaging to sustainable and recyclable materials, through overseeing continuous improvements to R&D’s processes, to supporting other business functions with your team’s work.

The successful candidate will be able to make good technical and commercial decisions in a timely manner. Enjoy participating in and owning projects and managing their team’s workflow to produce tangible real-world results that can be seen on shelves across the country and around the world.

They will work with the R&D manager to guide the business’s development through the design and execution of projects and programmes of work.

What you will bring:

We are looking for a proactive driven individual looking to accelerate their career by joining a close-knit R&D team at the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical company Ernest Jackson. You will bring experience and knowledge in:

• Knowledge of packaging types and processes backed up by education or experience. Previous work in sustainable and recycled packaging is an advantage.
• Good communication skills as you will have the opportunity to engage with everyone from factory staff to the Managing Director at Ernest Jackson, and Global Team Leaders in the wider Mondelez International business.
• Passion for people and coaching as the R&D Team Leader will manage a team of 3 people that work independently but that will need guidance in reaching their full potential.
• Ambition as you may be required to step into project ownership, taking responsibility for the forward momentum and output of multiple projects, independently coordinating technical work.
• Critical thinking will be needed to make sure interdependencies and risks to projects are identified and mitigated early, and options are presented clearly to business leadership.

Travel requirements:

There is potential for 5% of the job to require travel.

Work schedule:

The role is office based, at Ernest Jackson’s manufacturing site in Crediton, Devon, UK. Core business hours apply with flexible working supported.
