Job Description
Accountabilities and Duties
Managing Regional EHS Audit Process
- Oversee in your assigned region the implementation of the EHS Audit Process as outlined in the Amcor Global EHS Standard GD 5: Audit Process
- Ensure that EHS Audits are performed in a consistent manner resulting in a positive value-added experience for the end customers (sites, Business Units (BUs), and Business Groups (BGs)
- Work with Amcor Director, Health and Safety, and BG EHS Leaders to develop annual fiscal year Audit Schedules that are balanced, achievable, and are met
- Prepare sites for upcoming EHS Audits and acquire from them the necessary pre-audit information and documentation
- Ensure that EHS Auditors are properly prepared prior to the start of an EHS Audit
- Perform EHS Audits as assigned in the Audit Leader role
- Discern and properly communicate sensitive and confidential issues prior to, during, and after an EHS Audit
- Participate on the Amcor EHS Audit Committee to help ensure that there is global consistency and effectiveness in the application of the Amcor EHS Audit Process
Training and Education
- Ensure that all EHS Auditors have attended a current Amcor Auditor Workshop, possess the necessary auditing skills, understand how to use the SAMS Audit Tool, and have a consistent comprehension of the Amcor EHS Audit process
- Raise the awareness and understanding of the Amcor Global EHS Standards with the EHS Auditors
- Mentor inexperienced EHS Auditors, re-train Auditors as necessary, and remove Auditors from the program when appropriate
- Consult with Amcor Director, Health and Safety, and BG EHS Leaders regarding elevating Audit Team Members to an Audit Leader role
Reports, Communication, and Trending
- Ensure that all Audit Report deadlines are met
- Frequently communicate with the Amcor Director, Health and Safety the status, concerns, issues, and opportunities involving your Regional EHS Audit Process
- Utilize trending data from previous year’s EHS Audit results to identify top risk areas or findings, gaps, or opportunities within your Regional EHS Audit Proces
Formal Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field
- Minimum of 5 + years of EHS expererience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3+ years in an auditing role
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar would be a plus
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviours
- Strong proficiency in speaking and writing in English is essential with other languages (Spanish, Portuguese, German, Manderin, etc.) depending on region an asset
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office platform to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing safety regulations
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills
- Effectively present information and answer questions from BG, BU, and site staff
- Ability to professionally influerence peers, subordinates, and superiors
- Build strong relationships with with all Amcor co-workers
- Good leadership and influence management skills
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, project management, and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to make decisions, work independently, and also collaboratively in a team environment
- Capability to simultaneously manage multiple issues in different region locations
- Self-motivated with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize work to meet deadlines and commitments
