Queensland Cotton has been supporting Australian cotton producers for 100 years and is still going strong with the backing of Global food and fibre producer Olam. We grow, gin and market cotton to the world from Australia, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
At QC we like to be up front! To do this role successfully you will need to be on the road, a lot. We manage 9 cotton gins and cotton farms scattered west of the divide between Emerald and Warren. It is a big territory.
To be considered for this position you will need to be conscientious and knowledgeable. You will need the skill to walk into a workplace and identify risks others may not see. The combination of trucks, moon buggies, fork trucks, high speed machines, shift work, seasonal employees and 227kg highly flammable cotton bales requires a seasoned practitioner. We are proud of our OH&S system, our record and we need you to build on this further. You will be a competent author of procedures, investigations and training materials. You will enjoy inducting and educating people of all ages and background on the consequences of taking short cuts. You will have the capacity to ensure you would want your loved ones to work in the business where you manage safety.
You will be required to support our rice businesses in Vietnam and Thailand.
Based on your capabilities we will negotiate a competitive remuneration package.
