Sales Desk Associate – Group Retirement Plans

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about financial services and are interested in joining our team to start a career in Retirement, Mutual Funds, Variable Annuities, Life Insurance and/or Employee Benefits.

The Role
As a Sales Desk Associate (SDA), you will partner with the distribution team and be responsible for supporting sales of Transamerica solutions. You will assist the sales teams in developing new business opportunities while fostering existing relationships through phone and web-based sales and service engagements.

As part of the team you will learn about the solutions we offer and we will sponsor you to get both your insurance and securities licenses. Once you have learned our wholesaling model and are fully licensed, opportunities for advancement will present themselves.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strong ability to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with the distribution team with a common goal of increasing company’s share of mutual funds, annuity, retirement and insurance solutions
  • Deliver dedicated sales support and service through proactive engagement
  • Document activity by utilizing Transamerica’s systems (i.e. appointments, sales calls, monthly call campaigns and sales opportunities etc.)
  • Productively work together and collaborate with other home office departments
  • Demonstrate excellent listening skills to better assess a representative’s needs and determine the type of sales support necessary to accomplish the objective and add value to the products
  • Assist in fulfillment of marketing and sales materials
  • Provide Pre-sale licensing, agent appointment approvals, NAIC Suitability training, business resolution and follow-up with wholesaling team
  • Assist the distribution team in the research and fulfillment of investor illustrations and RFP’s
  • Provide Concierge Service, collecting information and completing sales applications/paperwork and/or assisting with order entry process for approved partner firm’s advisers
  • Proactively seek and engage in opportunities tailored for your professional development
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Need:

  • High School education or GED equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Ability to obtain Series 6 and 63 Securities Licenses within 12 months of hire
  • Ability to obtain resident state Life Insurance License within 18 months of hire
  • Intermediate level computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite etc.
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills with an appetite to learn Transamerica’s wholesale model and place in the industry
  • 1-2 years of sales experience preferred

It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. **

Compensation:

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $19.56. The amount may fluctuate based on potential employee qualifications, occupational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The amount may vary above or below this figure, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

Bonus Eligibility:

This position is eligible for a discretionary quarterly performance bonus targeted at $1,000 per quarter. This position is also typically eligible for an annual bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan. This annual bonus is based upon individual performance & company objectives and is targeted at 6% of base compensation.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in financial services industry preferred. Computer application software knowledge preferred (e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel).
