Sales Trainer

IDEXX is looking for an energetic Sales Trainer to support our phenomenal growth. We are keen to reach more customers in a more systematic and impactful way and develop a partnership with those customers that benefits both the customer and IDEXX for the long term. Working towards the achievement of our strategic plan is done by our exceptional sales force – and it’s the sales trainer’s responsibility to give them the training and the coaching support to accomplish these goals.
As a Sales Trainer at IDEXX, your responsibility is to increase the local team’s sales effectiveness, while being part of a part of a global Training Centre of Excellence. To accomplish this, you will implement our international training curriculum for the field and internal sales teams in your region, provide new hire sales training, host (virtual) classroom trainings, contribute to sales meetings, perform online educational webinars as well as observe and coach your sales colleagues in the field to drive continuous improvement.

In this Role:

  • You will use your commercial insights and work closely with the Spanish & Italian sales management team to evaluate and influence individual as well as team performance
  • You will identify gaps and work on solutions together with the Spanish & Italian sales management team
  • You will align and agree with both the Spanish and Italian management team and marketing team to create local training plans; executing our European commercial strategy
  • You will work closely with the Spanish & Italian commercial team to identify challenges they face on-the-job and coach them towards increased productivity
  • You will play a role in European or global projects, supporting the team

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Successful commercial sales experience, as well as ideally a proven track-record in training, facilitating and coaching – we would be open to speaking with successful territory managers who are looking to pivot their career into the training world
  • Ability to manage the full training cycle, applying “adult learning” through in-person activities and web-based learning.
  • You confidently influence without authority; your way of coaching and training selling skills and methods inspires teams to grow!
  • Excellent communication and writing skills ideally in both Spanish and Italian. English is essential as well.
  • You will need to be flexible, autonomous and able to travel both in country as well as internationally for international (sales) meetings. This position requires you to be on the road with your sales colleagues up to 50% of your working time
