As a Senior Associate, Business Marketing, you will support the Director, Sponsorship & Business Marketing within the regional Client & Market Strategy team based in London. The team supports the RBC Capital Markets business in the UK, Europe and APAC.  This position will be an important part of team generating innovative ideas, developing effective marketing strategies and executing initiatives designed to support a broad range of Capital Markets businesses with a particular focus on Global Markets. This role will also offer primary support to the Director as it relates to all digital marketing channels.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Capital Markets business line leaders, Digital Channels team, Corporate Communications team, and members of the Client and Marketing Strategy Group in the U.S, Canada and Australia to proactively develop marketing strategies and execute tactics that position the business, and seize unique marketing opportunities as they arise.

What will you do?

  • Support the Director in researching, planning and developing marketing tactics to support the strategies developed to promote the businesses and facilitate stronger client relationships
  • Help manage and implement marketing tactics, including: advertising, collateral development (brochures, marketing sheets, mailers, etc.).
  • Assisting in executing and leveraging sponsorships, conferences, events, email marketing, web communications, promotions, awards management, etc.
  • Monitor general marketing trends and tactics so the businesses are employing the most advanced and effective marketing practices available
  • Help track marketing being undertaken by competitors in the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific so we are aware of their activities and can position ourselves accordingly
  • Coordinate with the Conference & Events team to develop and execute content activation strategies and manage marketing initiatives for RBC proprietary conferences, industry sponsorships and other key business initiatives.
  • Execute marketing material from concept stage to final delivery
  • Create and track marketing metrics in Capital Markets through research and analysis
  • Collaborate to create, package and distribute relevant thought leadership designed to provide unique, timely insights to clients
  • Manage website editorial calendar planning and reporting of traffic and trends, assist in sourcing and creation of website content
  • Develop financial reports and interpretations to be communicated to senior Capital Markets’ employees and external clients.

Must-have

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Digital marketing experience
  • Proven ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Highly organised and entrepreneurial, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate well with a global team

Nice to have

  • Good professional services marketing/financial services experience
  • Graduate degree in business or marketing or similar
  • Experience working in or with Capital Markets business.
