What you will be doing
Purpose of the function – Within the framework of Umicore’s New Business Incubation strategy to significantly expand its presence and profitability in the North American market this position has responsibility to lead the Business Development & Sales team to achieve the planned revenues for precursor materials in the North American market.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute sales plans to achieve annual revenue targets and meet business growth plans
• Setup technical & commercial dialogue with the customers including sales activities to stimulate, encourage, establish and develop account relationships with customers
• Create and negotiate customer contracts and agreements
• Build a multichannel network into IDM’s, OEM’s and national research centers/academia
• Continuously align with internal R&D/production/quality teams
• Provide sales management data: forecasts, account management documentation and activity reports to management
• Travel to customers facilities, meet with potential new customers and represent the company at various events
• Monitor and manage customer credit lines, accounts receivables, invoicing, consignment stocks, coordinate delivery schedules with production and customers
• Suggest improvements to current products and need for new products to engineering and production in response to customer requirements. Creates business plans if necessary
• Assist in budget preparation
• Provide support in semiconductor related quality management systems/ship to control requirements
Who we are looking for
Do you have:
• Master’s degree or higher in chemistry or chemical engineering.
• Suitable mix of both technical and commercial knowledge in the field of organometallics and their use in Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition/Atomic Layer Deposition thin film technologies.
• Previous experience in the development and implementation of organometallic manufacturing processes and the products employed is desirable.
• Ten+ years experience in sales and sales management in the Pharma, Fine Chemical or Industrial chemical (preferably in the Semiconductor manufacturing industry) building and maintaining an effective sales force, establishing sales goals, and providing sales training & support.
• An excellent understanding of the semiconductor and chemical industries and its development processes.
• In-depth knowledge of the North American target customer base for Umicore products and services
• Strong selling skills including strategic selling and consultative selling
• Successful track record of building business and generating significant new business contracts.
• A thorough understanding of the competitive landscape including the major competitors in the North American market
• Proven contract negotiation skills (service & supply agreements, licensing agreements, partnership agreements)
• Strong record of driving business and sales growth.
• Proven track record of successful new product introductions including initial market assessment, leading a product development team, product launch & sales growth.
• Strong background in quality management systems in the semiconductor industry, e.g. Six Sigma
