Senior Corporate Counsel, Real Estate and Workplace Health & Safety

As a Sr. Corporate Counsel for Real Estate and Workplace Safety, you will work to secure and launch real estate facilities for all our corporate needs, as well as support the ongoing workplace legal issues that arise for Amazon’s Global Real Estate & Facilities, Health & Safety, and Security teams. You’ll collaborate with Amazon’s existing real estate and workplace safety attorneys around the globe to support pioneering business initiatives, learn how our corporate workplace is evolving alongside our other real estate businesses, and work directly with health and safety, operations and facilities teams to develop commercial solutions to global compliance issues for the workplace portfolio. You’ll handle:
· Sourcing for various facilities, including numerous leasing agreements, development agreements, land use and zoning and restricted use issues in a variety of jurisdictions;
· Workplace safety regulatory issues, policies and procedures
· Facilities and operational issues, including uses and security matters
· Design and Construction agreements;
· Procurement contracts;
· Other commercial transactions from the standard to the highly complex; and
You’ll identify opportunities for and implement process improvements and administer and resolve myriad legal issues that arise in commercial relationships within real estate portfolios for the modern workplace. You will need to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced, dynamic business environment, operating in all levels of the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience as a real estate attorney (min. three years at a top law firm) with significant leasing and development experience in Europe and the Middle East
· English fluency
· Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction.
· Excellent and concise verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
· Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and execute swiftly even in highly ambiguous situations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Negotiation and drafting skill in other languages, including Spanish, French, Italian, and German
· Experience in health & safety compliance and crisis management in corporate office and lab settings, with other industrial and related industry experience a plus.
· High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, and to balance risks and advise pragmatically
· A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience, particularly in a variety of jurisdictions
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
