THE ROLE
This is a unique opportunity to join the Cloud & Infrastructure Operations (Platform) team in a role that can be based across Australia where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Origin’s Cloud & Infrastructure platforms.
The individual will report to the Platform Services Manager and be a senior contributor within the Cloud & Infrastructure Operations (Platform) team as well as Origin’s other cloud communities, advising, participating in, and evolving Origin cloud services whilst adhering to best practices as defined by the centralised Cloud & Infrastructure Services group.
More about the role:
- Act as a technical leader & advisor within Cloud & Infrastructure Operations to inform and guide stakeholders towards the most effective IT outcomes
- Introduction, implementation and improvement of automation tools, principles, and processes.
- Engineer solutions, frameworks, and the supporting platforms to provide the optimal internal customer experience
- Proactively seek and implement process improvements both within the IT department, as well as amongst the business groups to ensure Origin is gaining maximum value from IT investments
- Support and facilitate migration of applications and infrastructure to cloud services
- Optimising (tuning) the environments to ensure maximum value (speed, scale etc)
ABOUT YOU
You’ll need to be agile, analytical, and astute with excellent problem solving. With excellent communication skills, you can comfortably mentor developers and have the willingness to explore new ideas to find a better way. Participate in an after-hours on call support roster.
More about you:
- Cloud native, with acute understanding of Agile & DevOps models and methodologies for operational environments
- Demonstrated experience in achieving cost savings within cloud platforms through removal of resource wastage, efficient workload management, rightsizing etc.
- CI/CD pipeline and support tooling experience
- Proven ability to manage and innovate in large, multi-business unit environments
- Strong documentation skills including technical architecture diagrams and knowledge management articles
- Experience in financial or energy trading environments with a focus on 24/7 mission critical systems
- Experience with AWS Services including but not limited to Amazon Connect, building call flow applications using Lambda functions, Dynamo DB, Cloud Front, Cloud Watch and S3.
