Johnson Matthey are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join our Clean Air Sector. You will be responsible for providing coaching and advice to people managers and business leaders in a functional/business area to lead their teams effectively. You will work collaboratively with the Clean Air UK HR Manager, strategic HR Business Partners and CoE’s. You will be responsible for implementing HR initiatives such as people & resourcing plans, talent management and local employee relations at a site level.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders within the business, providing pragmatic HR coaching and advice to people managers.
Coach and develop teams to maximise performance and enable line managers to be self-sufficient in people management activities, designing and delivering training as appropriate.
Use business understanding to plan and implement short to medium term workforce planning and support organisational change/restructuring programmes, recruitment and onboarding related activities in collaboration with the Central Talent Acquisition team.
Effectively handle complex employee relations cases, escalating to the UK HR Manager as appropriate.
Provide credible, pragmatic, and risk-based advice, support and coaching to management.
Establish a constructive social climate for employee relations activity in partnership with employees, managers, and local union representatives in line with local legislation.
Support a performance and development driven culture in JM by driving performance standards, bridging learning gaps and implementing talent management and career development programmes.
Review site performance and engagement and enablement survey results to identify improvements and ensure action plans are delivered.
Use data to inform and facilitate decision making and to develop proposals for improvement initiatives and projects, which are aligned to the business priorities.
Promote wellbeing, diversity, inclusion and represent JM values to contribute to the organisation culture and values.
Collaborate with HR and multi discipline teams across JM to enhance the manager and employee experience and continually improve the HR service delivery.
Are you the ideal candidate?
You Will Have/be
An experience HR Professional with hands-on advisory experience gained within a large matrix organisation preferably in comparable industry.
Advanced knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidelines and the relevant HR processes and responsibilities across the employee lifecycle.
Degree in HR/Business related discipline or equivalent qualification
CIPD or equivalent HR professional qualification is desirable but not essential
Proven experience advising on sensitive and complex ER cases with depth of experience across the full generalist HR spectrum.
Change management and process improvement experience is desirable
Experience of HR delivery in a unionised environment will be highly beneficial.
