The Role
This is a unique opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join Origin’s Generation department based at our Darling Downs Power Station (DDPS) in Dalby. As part of a small maintenance team comprising Mechanical, Electrical and I&C disciplines, you’ll be responsible for the daily Mechanical maintenance requirements of the plant and equipment at the largest gas fired combined cycle power station in Australia.

More about the role:
- Carry out first line maintenance activities, with response to emergency / unscheduled situations in the event of abnormal incidents to protect plant and personnel ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies
- Preparing work method statements, risk assessments and / or plant maintenance instructions ensuring the required level of maintenance to asset is achieved and records maintained
- Executes routine and non-routine maintenance activities in accordance with agreed procedures and operational requirements to ensure plant is operating safely, effectively, and efficiently
- All work carried out to be captured by an appropriate quality control process, as well as adhering to the Management of Work process ensuring that the KPI requirements for this process are being achieved
- Ensures safe working practices and procedures are adhered to within the work area
- Provides a Service Support function to the Operations department and ensures defects and status of any maintenance activity is effectively communicated to the shift teams
ABOUT YOU
You will demonstrate a strong work ethic and an excellent safety-first problem-solving mindset to enable the efficient resolution of operational or maintenance issues. You will be a solid communicator (both written and verbal) with experience working within a multidiscipline team.

- Trade qualifications (mechanical)
- Experience in using a maintenance management system
- Ability to assist with investigating plant faults and failures
- Experience at the level of or able to achieve the level of Permit to Work Acceptor
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings and procedures
- Problem solving skills to enable resolution of operational or maintenance issues
- Desire to live in a small country town or currently living local
- Construction White Card
- “C” Class Drivers Licence.
