A Day in the Life

    • Develop and execute marketing plan for UK, Ireland and Nordics and RoI for the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Franchise that supports the delivery the short and medium term growth goals.
    • Develop and Execute the strategic plan for growing the Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm business in the UK, Ireland and Nordic
    • Develop and execute UK, Ireland & Nordics Customer Engagement Strategy to maximize the full Aneurysm portfolio offering to all relevant stakeholders
    • Own responsibility for all business analytics related to all key product lines within the Aneurysm portfolio including, Annual Operating Plan, Strategic forecasts, Segmentation, Supply planning and ongoing sales performance metrics.
    • Close working relationship with the Sales and Technical team is critical

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Drive National Implementation of Marketing Strategies and Initiatives

    • Develop and execute marketing plan for AAA that achieves short, medium and long-term market growth goals for the UK, Ireland and Nordics business.
    • Manage the relationships with the key external stakeholders – NICE, Vascular Society etc
    • Maintain a vigorous competitive intelligence presence and strategy to maintain market leadership across the portfolio
    • Constantly be the voice of the customer and identify customer unmet needs.
    • Understands different stakeholders needs and identifies innovative ways to engage with them
    • Lead all forms of Customer Engagement to maximize the AAA portfolio to the wider clinical stakeholders, to include KOL Management, Speaker events, Academia Programs, Non-clinical Buyer programs and Galway Initiatives.
    • Analyse clinical data and communicate to internal teams to ensure sales teams are fully confident in clinical data messaging.
    • Build the TAA business within the UK, Ireland and Nordics – focus on therapy development, support the sales team, prepare for new product launches, build KOL advocacy plans
    • Work with management and sales teams to target and development Key Opinion Leaders with ongoing Medtronic initiatives.
    • Manage UK, Irish and Nordics KOL database
    • Coordinate and support market development activities as necessary (promotional campaigns, educational seminars etc).
    • Work with reimbursement, clinical and/or regulatory resources to define and implement clinical studies to support existing marketing activities (registries, ERPs and pivotal trials etc).
    • Work closely with BM to manage the customer spend
    • Support the Sales Team with field days and customer visits. There is an expectation of minimum of 2 days per week customer facing.

Cross-functional working with different internal stakeholders to drive team planning and promotional activities

    • Provide input in to AOP planning process and the development of management initiatives that maximize business results.
    • Attend quarterly European Sales & Marketing Councils with Business Manager to influence Strategic Direction across Europe (where relevant)
    • Work closely with Aortic Business Manager and Front Line Managers to manage and direct resource to maximize business results.
    • Build a close working environment with Health Economics and Access teams to develop effective strategies to support the AAA/TAA market growth.
    • Interface with several different business functions including SHQ Marketing, PR, Finance, Engineers, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory, Reimbursement and Business admin to drive business results.
    • Regularly provide update on marketing activities and potential growth opportunities to wider management team.

Channel Communication between the European and UKI-Nordics Organizations

    • Consistently and effectively communicate appropriate product, market, clinical, competitive information to local Sales and European Marketing organization in order to maximize sales results.
    • Work closely and effectively with the European and if needed, global, marketing organization, ensuring UK, Ireland and Nordics are seen as the leaders in Marketing execution
    • Be responsible for co-ordinating all product training for the sales teams
    • Collaborate with Aortic Management team to Develop and Execute plans for quarterly sales meeting focusing on strategic priorities to drive the UKI-NORDICS business.

Must Haves

    • BSc or Business related degree
    • Proven successful medical sales experience to physicians and administrative staff
    • Marketing experience
    • Good understanding of the NHS
    • Experience working in either a theatre or Catheter lab environment
    • Proven strategic thinking and business acumen

Nice to Haves

  • Understanding of the Aortic Aneurysm market and disease area
  • Experience of Therapy development
