Responsible for the technical and organizational leadership of the Planning team.
This position works closely with all members of the Operations management team towards achieving delivery performance goals and objectives.
Excellent communication skills and knowledge of the SAP Production ERP system are required, as the position will interact daily with area managers, shift leads, engineering leads, central end to end planners and other operations team members (internal or external) as appropriate.
Daily responsibilities include the coordination of production plans, tracking operations performance, processing work order needs, and other production support activities as required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
General Functions
- Define, share, and monitor best practices in the planning department (e.g. setting of planning/MRP parameters, maintaining master data, etc.)
- Set guidelines for converting planned orders into production/purchase orders (standard procedure, exceptions handling, etc.)
- Facilitate coordination with manufacturing for optimal capacity planning
- Ensure close collaboration with Central Planning team to address supply issues (backorder issues, return requests, redeployment of resources, inventory reductions/increases, etc.) and to ensure the optimal balance between high service levels and low DOH/obsolescence
- Participation in and facilitate key meetings e.g. daily Gemba meetings, weekly planning meetings and monthly IBP meetings (Supply Review and Supply point capability review)
- Lead Planning related projects and collaborates with cross functional stakeholders to deliver on time
- Process Owner of all relevant processes

Education/Experience Requirements
Education:
- Degree or extensive industry knowledge
- Further education in supply chain management or production planning a plus
Professional Experience: min. 5 years
Specialized knowledge:
- SAP R/3-knowledge
- Knowledge in material requirement planning (MRP)
- Knowledge in production planning and work preparation (particularly in capacity planning)
- Good PC knowledge, particularly Excel and data analysis
- Logical/scientific thinking for issue resolution
- IBP experience a plus
