Job Description:
Essential Job Functions
- Gathers and maintains specialized knowledge related to the specific industry area being supported; maintains networks and external contacts for research purposes. May participate in selected industry organizations to buttress other sources.
- Monitors regulations, industry events, vendors and technology advances to identify emerging trends and to support research agendas and future-focused technology investments.
- Leads routine research projects or portions of complex research projects to support company thought leadership, marketing efforts, product and service offering development and consulting strategy.
- Develops frameworks and models for conveying industry trends and company positions to internal and external audiences.
- Develops understanding of standard company business development methodology and supports proposal efforts as needed.
- Promotes knowledge sharing and ensures consistency of understanding across supported business units as well as with corporate knowledge program.
- Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or related industry field preferred
- Six or more years of research and knowledge development or industry operation experience, preferably in a consulting environment
- Experience working with standard research tools, techniques, and methodologies
Other Qualifications
- One to three years of additional relevant experience in a particular business or industry specialty area
- Good oral and written communication skills to interface with internal and external clients and create appropriate knowledge assets
- Good analysis, critical thinking, and data synthesis skills
- Good organizational skills to balance and prioritize work to meet project margins
- Strategic knowledge and skill related to the industry being supported
- Ability to coach less experienced team members on research techniques and tools
- Willingness to travel
